Did Your Child Struggle This Past School Year?

Is your child struggling in school? Is your child anxious about going to school? Does he or she have a problem staying focused and/or managing his/her behaviour? Do you want to know more about the unique ways that your child learns?

Summer holidays is a great opportunity to connect with a psychologist for a formal psycho-educational assessment. A formal assessment consists of a battery of tests and questionnaires, a review of background information and documents, and clinical interviews. A psychologist uses this information to identify strengths and weaknesses in your child's learning style, explore any emotional issues that may be impacting his or her performance, and formulate diagnoses if applicable in order to guide remediation and treatment. Based on the assessment results, the psychologist can make specific recommendations to strengthen and support your child's psychological, emotional, behavioural, and/or academic functioning. Assessments are tailored to the specific needs of each child based on the goals of the child and his/her parents as well as background information.

If you would like more information about obtaining a psycho-educational assessment for your child, please contact our office.
