Our Building |
At Kells Counselling the needs of children and families are the heart of our work.
We provide assessment, counselling, and coaching as well as training and groups. Our therapists are highly trained and skilled in assessment, consultation, and treatment. Kells has the expertise required to work with people facing all sorts of challenges. We currently have one therapist on staff who is fluent in American sign language and Spanish.
Kells also provides employee and family assistance programs. For more information on this area select EFAP Services on the top bar.
We know how to help people effectively manage their feelings and attitudes and develop healthier and more effective patterns of behaviour.
Kells Counselling is a sister company to Crossroads Family Services and People Solutions EFAP. Together these companies form the Centre for Family Solutions. For more information on the Centre please visit the website by clicking here. |
Did You Know?
At Kells, five of our therapists are specially trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. Research has shown that EMDR therapy can be effective in helping clients with many types of issues, including phobias and panic disorders; crime and war victims; victims of natural disasters; sexual assault victims; accident, surgery, and burn victims; and people wanting to enhance their performance in business, sports, or the performing arts.
EMDR facilitates the brain's information processing system and allows a person's nervous system to process experiences more quickly. Many clients who have made slow progress in the past, or who have not benefitted from therapies that are more traditional, say that, with EMDR, they have finally found something that works for them.
For more information about EMDR, please visit www.emdria.org. |
Confidentiality
Confidentiality is an essential feature of any therapeutic session and relationship as it is crucial to maintaining trust and professionalism with clients.
We are committed to protecting client confidentiality and can only share information with others if directed to do so by the client.
The only limits to confidentiality are in the case of subpoenaed records, suspicion of child abuse or neglect, or if the client discloses that they may harm themselves or others.
We are committed to safeguarding the confidentiality of our clients.
Our team of Registered Psychologists and Clinical Social Work Therapists are all registered with their association(s) and are committed to following their professional Code of Ethics. |
